Overview

The Client seeks an Enterprise Architect for Commercial Lending to shape the technology strategy, landscape, and roadmap for high-impact initiatives. Must be able to articulate the end-to-end commercial loan lifecycle (prospect underwriting approval closing/booking servicing modifications/renewals payoffs; including syndications/participations) and the applications/technologies that enable each step. Hands-on familiarity with nCino (loan origination) and AFS Vision (loan accounting) is strongly preferred; AFS Vision expertise is the ideal unicorn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve enterprise architecture and roadmaps aligned to commercial lending priorities and regulatory needs.
  • Model the end-to-end commercial lending process and map system capabilities to each stage; identify gaps and target-state improvements.
  • Design integrations and data flows between nCino (LOS) and AFS Vision (loan accounting), including booking, GL posting, accruals/amortization, payments/draws, fees, collateral, and reconciliations.
  • Establish architecture standards/patterns for real-time APIs, eventing, and batch/ETL between LOS, servicing, data platforms, and downstream finance/reporting.
  • Ensure solutions meet risk, compliance, privacy, and audit requirements; define control and reconciliation frameworks across LOSaccounting.
  • Provide architecture oversight through delivery; partner with business, product, engineering, and vendor teams; communicate clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Expected Skills

  • Strategic thinking; ability to align tech to lending business outcomes.
  • Deep understanding of commercial banking processes and products; proven end-to-end solution design.
  • Enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and modern architectures (cloud, microservices, APIs, data platforms).
  • Integration of diverse platforms/data sources; strong risk/compliance and data-governance mindset.
  • Stakeholder influence, visualization, and change leadership in large programs.

Expected Knowledge (updated emphasis)

  • Commercial lending lifecycle and adjacent domains (syndications, participations, leases, ABL, construction/dealer, collateral).
  • nCino (LOS) and AFS Vision (loan accounting)process, data models, booking, GL, and reconciliation touchpoints.
  • Adjacent ecosystems (core banking, treasury, CRM, document/ops, data platforms) and integration patterns (APIs, ETL, events).
  • Cybersecurity/privacy standards; regulatory frameworks (FFIEC, SOX, GLBA/GDPR).
  • Data architecture: governance, MDM, lineage, analytics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years in architecture/solution delivery; 3+ years in commercial lending technology within a financial institution.
  • Demonstrated experience with nCino and/or AFS Vision (AFS Vision strongly preferred).
  • Strong architecture diagramming, standards development, and enterprise tooling proficiency; software engineering and systems integration experience.

Expected Deliverables

  • End-to-end capability maps and process/system blueprints for commercial lending.
  • High-level and detailed solution designs, including nCinoAFS Vision integration patterns and data contracts.
  • Architecture principles/standards; control & reconciliation designs for LOSaccountingGL.
  • Technology assessments, gap/impact analyses, and executive presentations.
  • Reference architectures/patterns that accelerate compliant delivery.
